A Cook-Off Between Cultures “The Hundred Foot Journey” Get To know Before You Go

Having just screened the film I would suggest you have dinner before you hit the theaters, as the cuisine will make your mouth water with its visual buffet! “The Hundred-Foot Journey” adapted from the best-selling novel by Richard C.Morais. Directed by Lasse Hallström, who directed the 2000 art-house hit “Chocolat.”Starring one of the most admired actresses of our time Dame Helen Mirenas Le Saule Pleureur’s icy proprietress, Madame Mallory. Madame  Mallory, the clasically trained french chef is threatened by the opening of a soulful Indian restaurant 100 feet across the street from her Michelin-starred palace. Hassan Kadam (played by Manish Dayal) a culinary ingénue and his family led by Papa (played by Om Puri) move to a small village in the South of France.

Different cultures and desires-Outraged by the new arrivals, Madame Mallory is determined to have the business shut down, causing an almost all out war between the two restaurants. Hassan’s passion and talent for French cuisine soon enchants Madame Mallory. A friendship stirs up between her sous chef Marguerite (played by Charlotte Lebon) and Hassan melding the two cultures despite their different taste, they discover a recipe for success thatwill surprise them all. The film is Rated PG and is a great family film.

Un viaje de diez metros (The Hundred Foot Journey) – Trailer latino

Hassan Kadam (Manish Dayal) es un ingenuo profesional culinario con un paladar insuperable. La familia Kadam, lejos de su India natal y liderados por Papa (Om Puri), se establecen en el pequeño pueblo de Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val en el sur de Francia. Lleno de encanto, tan pintoresco como elegante, es el lugar ideal para establecer su hogar y abrir un restaurante indio, la Maison Mumbai. O eso parece hasta que la fría propietaria de Le Saul Pleureur, un restaurante francés clásico galardonado con una estrella Michelin, regentado por Madame Mallory (la ganadora del Premio de la Academia Helen Mirren) se hace eco de ello.

Sus gélidas protestas en contra del nuevo restaurante indio a diez metros de su propio restaurante escalan y acaban en una guerra declarada entre los dos locales.
