The 40th Annual People’s Choice awards rings in the new year as the first award show of the season. Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs of Two Broke Girl’s  will host this years event at Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. Live from the red carpet correspondents presented a few unexpected early awards during there interview, which caught a few off guard.

Pretty Little Liars–Lucy Hale was stunned when presented with Favorite Cable TV Actress award

Favorite Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Actor award went to Ian Somerhalder of the Vampire Diaries

White was the popular color to start off this seasons Red Carpet trend. Jennifer Hudson was stunning in her white long sleeve dress as was Jessica Alba, Taylor Swift and Adelaide Kane ( My favorite dress of the night!)
