image “Summer Nights” Olivia Newton John Vegas Show Debuts this week

 Olivia Newton John will debut her new Las Vegas show “Summer Nights” Wednesday April 8 at The Flamingo, with a portion of every ticket sold benefiting the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre. Its been 36 years since Olivia played Sandy in the cult classic film “Grease” playing opposite of John Travolta. The fabulously choreographed musical film catapulted Olivia into super-stardom. This film’s best-selling soundtrack featured the duets “You’re The One That I Want” and “Summer Nights,” with Travolta, as well as her mega-hit, “Hopelessly Devoted To You.” To date “Grease” remains the most successful movie musical in history.

The show is expected to takes fans on a journey through her life and career, with Grease playing a significant role in the production. Olivia will also include songs from her 80’s film Xanadu and hit song “physical”. In 2010 Olivia played herself in 2 episodes of Glee creating a new version of the hit song sung with Glee star Jane Lynch.

Designer Brian Rennie known as the “King of Couture” will be costuming Olivia for the Vegas show.Rennie has outfitted Oprah, Amy Poehler,Avril LavigneKim Basinger, and has designed a wedding dress for Jennifer Lopez and counted Princess Diana among his clients. Formerly the Head Designer of Escada for 20 years, Rennie now is the Creative Director at the German Fashion house Basler.

“it’s ALL custom couture styles. Lots of hand beaded pieces. Tuxedos and gowns and even a pair of Brian’s signature beaded couture jeans. Very fancy pants. Literally”
