Local South Florida Churches Christ Fellowship Miami and Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale Worship Ministry combined to be apart of an amazing opportunity to sing at the Chris Tomlin concert on Friday, February 20th. Both churches were approached by Tomlins stage director because Chris had the idea of having a choir on stage for his song “the table“. This, he had never done before.

“We were the first city in the tour and the “test group”. 30 Calvary and 10 CF worship team members made up the choir. We came prepared and ready to make his idea a reality on stage.

Personally, I couldn’t believe I was going to be singing on stage at the BankUnited Center, sharing the stage with Chris Tomlin and his fantastic band. We had so much fun practicing backstage with Chris before the concert. I was the first person in line to lead the group onto the risers and the only thought in my mind at that moment was “don’t fall!” The energy on stage and in the crowd was incredible. It was an awesome time of worship.”

He made it seem as though it wasn’t even a concert but a worship experience beyond measures. It was like he completely surrendered to God during the worship.

What my friend Tara Ousley Had to say:

So the Chris Tomlin Love Ran Red Concert was AMAZING!!! It was the ultimate worship experience. I wouldn’t even call a concert. It was like nothing I have ever experienced before. Rend Collective the band from Ireland performed first. I’m not too familiar with them but I’ve heard a few of their songs on 90.9 Life FM. They sang “My Lighthouse”, Build Your Kingdom Here, “More than Conquerors” and two other songs I can’t quite remember. Next was Tenth Avenue North which they are originally from West Palm Beach, FL. They were pretty Awesome. Their songs were more uplifting and a reminder of who God is. They sang “No Man is an Island”, Stars in the Night, “By Your Side”, “You Are More” and a few other songs. They were Incredible! Last but not least was Chris Tomlin. He made it seem as though it wasn’t even a concert but a worship experience beyond measures. It was like he completely surrendered to God during the worship. His band played some of the old songs that we are e used and a few of his new songs. One of my favorite parts was when he brought a choir consisting of Christ Fellowship and Calvary Chapel choir members and they joined Chris and sang “Table” one of the songs off the new album “Love Ran Red”. Overall, it was just a beautiful and an amazing experience to see what it would actually be like one day. When all God’s people come together and just worship him for who he is. Just an incredible experience. You definitely felt God’s presence in the midst.

Thank you Sandra Rivas & Tara Ousley for the contribution with the inside scoop:)
