The Barden Bellas are back in Pitch Perfect 2, the follow-up to the 2012’s smash hit. Alright Aca-fans the moment you have been waiting for since the first movie, Pitch Perfect 2 hits theaters this week! I had the opportunity to see a pre-showing of the movie. The movie definitely delivered some great musical mash-ups of the 60’s to the hits on the radio now. Surprisingly, the movie also released a new original song, “Flashlight“. Pitch Perfect 2 brought back almost all the original Bellas and Troublemakers, with the addition of some new standout characters. The main theme is graduating and moving on after college and appreciating the friendships and bonds that are made there.

Although the movie is packed with musical ability, it lacks in wholesome content. Pitch Perfect (the original) pushed the envelope in its sexual and racial jokes. The sequel followed suit. The audience at times seemed to be unsure if they should laugh or be offended. I would definitely not recommend this movie to anyone under the age of 13. Overall though I’d give the movie a 6 out of 10. It was entertaining and the music was well done, but the acting and moral content was slightly disappointing.Expect over the top racist and sexist comments.  PITCH PERFECT 2 has been rated PG-13 for innuendo and language
