The heat is on! This summer record high temperatures have been recorder reaking havoc on our beauty routines.
Hear are a few ideas to help solve a few of our most common embarrasing beauty disasters caused by the heat.
Breakouts:
Summer heat increases oil production due to us spending more time getting sweaty in outdoor activites.
In turn causing clogged pores and zits.
Solution:
Exfoliation seems to be the best way to keep skin clear. Use a mild scrub or a cleanser that contains Glycolic or Salicylic acid. Antibacterial cleansers can also help reduce pimple causing germs. One that i’ve used in the past has been Cetaphil Skin Cleansers($4 available in Drugstores),which comes in a variety of formulas based on your skin type. This is also best if followed up by a product containing salicylic acid for on the spot treatments, my go-to choice is Origins Super spot remover ($13 www.origins.com) its a small bottle and all you need is a dab that packs a lot of punch!
Dark underarm skin:
Sweltering heat will have us all barring more of our underarms this summer! And most us are victims of this skin darkening primarily caused by irritation under the arms aftershaving. Creating a darker skin tone which can be quite embarassing in your pretty summer tanks and dresses.
Solution:
Try exfoliation here as well to get rid of of dead skin cells. Shaving is also a form of exfoliationg but you Must start with clean skin and a new razorblade. My sister has always suffered from underarm skin discoloration until recently. She discovered Dove® ClearTone™ Deodorant($4 available in most drugstore). Made with Calendula and Sunflower seed extracts moiturizes to accelerate the natural skin renewal process, which helps to reduce the darkness & even skin tone with regular use over time. I can say that the change has been significant, and would absolutely recommend having seen the results first hand.
Blisters & Chafing:
Even in cute summer sandals, swollen feet can develop painful blisters when your shoes rub the wrong way. And shorter shorts can increase chafing in places like your inner thighs.
Solution:
Before going out rub a anti-blister gliding stick over trouble areas to add lubrication(Band-aid makes one for about $5).
Dusting some body powder overskin will help minimize moisture will providing some slip.
