Part 2 of Embarrasing beauty disasters solved: Summer inspired
In part 1 I covered Breakouts,Dark Under Arms, blisters and chafing. Here are a few more summer beauty disasters and solutions.
Has the Summer Heat got you Burned out? A sun burn is not fun when your trying to look cute and stylish.
Sunburn:
Planning on hitting the beach? Well sunscreen has to become your new bestfriend! To prevent looking like a Lobster at the next clam-bake its imperative that you slather your skin with a broad spectrum water resistant formula thats spf30+. And make sure to reapply every 2 hours or more often if you plan to be in the water. Important areas to pay close attention to are forehead, nose and ears.
Solution:
If your skin turns red and painful despite all your efforts, pop a OTC anti-inflammatory like Advil, and apply a cooling gel or even a cold Milk compress. The protein in the Milk is a soothing agent. And if you begin to peel Avoid picking, which can lead to uneven pigmentation and scarring.
Split ends:
Salt water, sun and chlorine can do a number on your hair. Excessive exposure to the elements can dry out your strands
making them strawlike and causing split ends.
Solution:
Rehydrate your hair with a moisture rich shampoo and conditioner regularly. And spritz on a leave -in conditioner
before heading out for the day. There are many aftersun masks out in the market to fit every budget, these will help your hair lie smooth and give your hair a healthy look. If you feel like your hair is dehydrated post styling, smooth that same conditioner on your ends. This coats the damaged cuticles, and make sure to get regular trims to keep those split ends in check.
