The 63rd Miss Universe Pageant takes place tonight live on NBC from the FIU Arena in Doral-Miami. 88 beautiful contestants from around the globe will compete for the New York skyline inspired crown and the title of Miss Universe.The 2015 host will be Natalie Morales,Thomas Roberts and Jeannie Mai,and performances by Nick Jonas and Prince Royce. I had the opportunity to take part in a Miss Universe pop up “pamper party” at the CHI (official hair sponsor) Lounge yesterday during the contestants day of rehearsal.
The event began with complimentary H’orderves and champagne as we were welcomed to take a seat with one of the 4 creative hair artist. I had the pleasure of getting stylist Albert Luiz, whose been working out of Texas with the Miss Usa and Miss Universe pageants for the past 20 years. Having styled the winning looks of Miss USA Crystal Steward, Miss USA Kristen Dalton, Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza and Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins. So to say the least, I was in very good hands.
Using the official Miss Universe CHI STYLE illuminate hair products specifically made to take your look from day to night. With so many wardrobe/hair style changes throughout the competition these products are made to provide hold without adding buildup. Albert walked me through the product line he Va Va Volume was my Inspired style to coiff my hair.The items he used were Restage Dry Shampoo,Work your style flexible hair spray, Rock your crown firm hair spray and the titanium 1.25″ curling iron.
The pop up lounge sat above the arena where the contestants spent the entire day rehearsing for the live show. those in the media invited to the event were also treated to a swagbag filled with products and a hairstyling iron (I was a happy girl). I was able to get a few selfies with some of the stunning contestants as well as meet the CEO of the Miss Universe Pageants Paula Shugart but no Donald Trump in sight. But I loved getting the opportunity to watch Nick Jonas practice his newest hit “Jealous”
