Art in Komuns,  a First of its Kind Hands-On Family Event in Miami During Art Basel 2015 Plus win a Family four pack

  
Specially designed to promote bonding among families with children ages 3 to 17 while experiencing all art forms. 

 Komuns, Miami’s newest online community that helps parents unplug kids from technology and reconnect with them by sharing real-life experiences, will be hosting Art in Komuns. The event will showcase Miami’s artists and creative community in an engaging and fun way for families. 

Art in Komuns will take place on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Venture Hive in the heart of Downtown Miami.  

   

Art in Komuns is supported by the Art and Business Council of Miami due to its mission of fostering children’s engagement with arts and culture in their community. Over 25 local and socially conscious organizations encompass Art in Komuns, including the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science, Miami Children’s Museum, Bass Museum of Art, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, DesignLab, Art Box, and Bakehouse Art Complex. 

 Art in Komuns will feature hands-on art making activities, demonstrations, live music, conferences from experts, and a dining area where guests can purchase healthy meals. For six-hours, families will have the opportunity to move from one interactive experience to another while collaborating.   

   

Guests will be able to paint their own canvas with the guidance of professional artists, color on a giant mural, create Vietnamese hats, draw with charcoal, decorate a gingerbread Miami Skyline, assemble 3D Miami icons, watch a puppet play, discover the inside thoughts of a cartoonist, sew a wearable piece of art, participate in a community collage, discover creativity through rock, be part of a caring tree art project, decorate and eat your own cupcake and enjoy a professional-quality artwork installation at children’s eye level or about 36″ high among other activities.
A percentage of the event’s proceeds will go to ArtCares for Kids, a Miami-based nonprofit organization comprised of volunteers who serve children in medical settings dealing with psychological, emotional and physical challenges. 

 Art in Komuns is the first of many events to come that are aligned with Komuns four pillars of enriched family lifestyles which are: Art and Culture, Physical and Outdoor Activity, Education and Technology, as well as Community and Philanthropy.
