April 2,2015 Joel Houston and Carl Lentz the co lead pastors of Hillsong Church New York appeared on the TODAY Show with Kathy Lee and Hoda. Joel is the worship leader for the Australian Christian band Hillsong United. Then that was their first live American broadcast television appearance of the band, which performed at the time “Touch the sky” from their Empires Album. You can watch that video here.
Fast forward 17 months later Hillsong United will be appearing Live for the second time on the TODAY show with Kathie Lee and Hoda tomorrow morning September 6th 2016 on NBC. With the release of the documentary film of the worship band “Let Hope Rise” a Hillsong Movie in theaters next Friday Sept 16th, which chronicles the band’s life and the music they create to bless people around the world, bringing worship to the theaters.
